WINTRY MIX OF WEATHER THIS WEEK
We hope that you had the opportunity to come out and enjoy the great ski conditions over the past six weeks. We had a great Presidents’ Weekend with good crowds and fun events. The skiing surface has been phenomenal. This week, we are due for a mixed bag: cold and warm, cloudy and sunny, with occasional rain or snow showers. Crowds should be down and the surface should be soft, so come on out and enjoy the season while it lasts.
CHECK OUT THE NEW REPORT FORMS
When you are next on duty, make sure you take a look at an accident report form. We received a new batch and they are different. Some of the information is in different places and some new things have been added. While you are checking them out, be sure to replace the form you carry in your pack or jacket with a new one; just get the blank one out of the drawer so as not to mess up the numbering sequence.
For reasons of hygiene, the fabric covers for the heating pads were removed and we began using disposable pillow cases instead. However, the uncovered pads got too hot, so the fabric covers were returned to the pads (I guess they didn’t notice the temperature controls). We are still covering the pads with pillowcases. Please replace them between patients.
On Sat., Jan. 28, 2012, a work party of patrollers and friends emptied out the building and installed special, industrial carpet recommended for use in medical environments. If you like the new look (and the traction) say thanks to: Steve and Kelly Fuller, Mike Case, Jon Ragnone, Tom Black, L. J. and Allison LaVene, Tim Bright, Linda and Mark Retzlaff, Todd Sekles, and Dave Boboltz.
CONGRATULATE OUR NEW CANDIDATES
Our interview night and ski along was a couple weeks ago and the committee selected several new candidates. Paperwork is almost complete and we will let you know their names soon, but you might see some of them out at the hill. They will be wearing the candidate jackets and should be asking you to ski with them to show them the ropes.
The Senior SEM Ecaluation will be held at Mt. Brighton on March 10, followed by the Senior Aid Room Seminar. The seminar is a senior elective and is also a requirement for those who wish to be registered as Senior Patrollers without completing the Alpine or Nordic proficiency components.
LATEST SCHEDULE AND ROSTER AVAILABLE
Apparently a few people missed the Dec. 3 deadline for making schedule changes as Blake has sent several updates since. I will post the latest update as soon as I receive one with our new candidates on it. If you need the password to the Members’ Area, contact LJ.
